First Aid at Work (Level 3)
The First Aid at Work (FAW) course is the most comprehensive first aid training for the workplace. It covers various CPR and first aid skills and equips first aiders with the knowledge to apply first aid to specific injuries and illnesses.
Description
The RLSS UK Qualifications Level 3 First Aid at Work course covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills, equipping the first aider to apply first aid to specific injuries and illnesses.
This three-day First Aid at Work course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing the skills to ensure a safe working environment.
The First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification is Ofqual, CCEA and Qualification Wales accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements.
The First Aid at Work course is 18 hours and can be delivered over three consecutive days or split into smaller sessions and delivered over a 10-week period from the start of the course.
The First Aid at Work (FAW) course comprises practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical and multiple-choice theory assessment of CPR and first aid.
Prerequisites
Candidates must be a minimum of 16-years-old at the time of taking the First Aid at Work assessment, and no prior first aid knowledge is required.

Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
RLSS UK’s Automated External Defibrillator (AED) course teaches candidates how to give effective CPR and use an AED – meaning they feel confident if an emergency occurs and need to deliver lifesaving CPR procedures either in public or the workplace.
This 1.5-hour Automated External Defibrillator (AED) bolt-on is for anyone over 16. Knowing how to use an AED could save your family, friends, or co-workers' lives if they have a cardiac arrest. After completing an RLSS UK AED course, candidates receive a Level 2 Award in Automated External Defibrillator qualification.

The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Programme is regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Walesand CCEA in Northern Ireland.
Anaphylaxis Management
The Anaphylaxis Management course teaches candidates how to recognise a casualty with anaphylaxis and provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty.
This 2-hour Anaphylaxis Management training is available as bolt-on. After completing an RLSS UK Anaphylaxis Management course, candidates receive a Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis.
RLSS UK’s Anaphylaxis Management is CIMSPA endorsed, which means it has been quality-assured by CIMSPA.
The Anaphylaxis Management qualification is regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA in Northern Ireland.Management of Life-threatening Bleeding
If an employer has identified training in the management of life-threatening bleeding as a necessary competency for their first aider, they would be required to have the relevant appropriate and adequate equipment in their first aid kit, which would be likely to include manufactured tourniquets.
Course Assessment
The competence of each learner is continually assessed by the trainer throughout the course and recorded via a practical assessment record.
Candidates will also be required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the topics covered by undertaking a multiple-choice theory question paper/s.
Requalification
This course is valid for 3 years upon date of completion, candidates will need to complete a First Aid at Work Refresher course before this date to re-qualify.
